Matt grew up in Southern California (try not to hold that against him!). The oldest of three, he was homeschooled until the 7th grade, during which time he trusted Jesus and gave his life to Him. In high school, Matt played Basketball and Volleyball and was very involved in various ministries. After high school, he moved to Colorado and became a Youth Pastor at the ripe old age of 19. A few years later, Matt attended Azusa Pacific University where he received his degree in Biblical Studies and, more importantly, met his better half, Annette. They moved to Annette’s hometown, Puyallup WA, and after struggling in his faith for a couple of years, became very involved in young adult ministry. During this time, Matt worked various jobs including as a waiter at the Space Needle, a substitute teacher, and a short stint as a firefighter. Matt became an Associate Pastor at Edgewood Bible Church, Annette’s home church, in 2011. Matt, Annette, and their four children were called down to Vancouver, WA in 2015 to serve at Evergreen Bible Church. While there as Associate Pastor, Matt was readied for Senior Pastor ministry and was called to Keyport in May 2021. Matt and Annette are extremely blessed with six beautifully boisterous children and currently spend most of their evenings/Saturdays, watching/transporting to Little League. Matt is “stoked” to be at KBC and is praying for the type of supernatural/transformational ministry that can only be done with the help of God’s Holy Spirit, on behalf of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father!
